We recognize that the budget environment is challenging, and our ask is not to increase but to preserve what you have already committed - funding that has significantly strengthened the infrastructure and relationships that make this work possible. For Santa Clara County, that investment is $11.6 million ( combining the $6.6 million ongoing budget allocation with the one-time $5 million made in November 2024). Santa Clara County is amongst the most impacted communities in the state. While we have not experienced the large-scale raids seen in cities like Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Chicago, we face one of the highest - if not the highest - rates of targeted enforcement operations in California.
