Oocusign Envelope ID: FE?00ECA-O134-4124-B0E0-41MBC315E10 Friends of Rusty Areias Community Garden is a group of dedicated gardeners and volunteers at Rusty Areias Community Garden, which opened in 2021 through a special lease agreement between the City of San Jose's Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services and Santa Clara County Parks; WHEREAS, Rusty Areias Community Garden offers 46 garden rental plots on a year-to-year basis and serves as a space for organic agricultural sustainability while promoting healthy diet choices by allowing community members to grow their own food at an affordable cost; WHEREAS, Friends of Rusty Areias Community Garden adheres to organic gardening principles, including not using pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers, inspiring neighbors to remain food secure through self-reliance and organic plot gardening; and WHEREAS, Friends of Rusty Areias Community Garden is being recognized for its advocacy for senior gardeners and volunteers during the hot summer months, securing a new shade structure through a partnership between the Office of Supervisor Sylvia Arenas, Santa Clara County Parks, and the City of San Jose's Department...
