Docusign Envelope ID: 3D6AC004-ED28-4146-9416-DAA34E373F8A WHEREAS, the Downtown Palo Alto Farmers’ Market has addressed a critical need for fresh, locally grown food since its founding in 1981; WHEREAS, the market has evolved to meet the changing needs of Palo Alto residents, growing from 11 vendors at its founding to more than 40 vendors today, some of whom have been there since the very beginning; WHEREAS, the market is a nonprofit run by an all-volunteer board and donates its proceeds back to the community; WHEREAS, the market has donated more than $650,000 to Avenidas in support of its vital programs and services for older adults; and WHEREAS, in recognition of its impact and dedication to community well-being, the Downtown Palo Alto Farmers’ Market is receiving the 2026 Avenidas Lifetimes of Service Award, honoring its decades of contributions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara does hereby recognize and commend the Downtown Palo Alto Farmers’ Market for nearly 50 years of connecting farms and local food with the Palo Alto community.
