(Office of Supportive Housing) FISCAL IMPLICATIONS There are no fiscal implications associated with approving this proclamation. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION Silicon Valley at Home (SV@Home) will host Affordable Housing Month (“AHM 2026”) in May. The theme for AHM 2026 will be “#AllInForHousing,” a reflection of what it truly takes to build a community where everyone can afford to live and belong. Being “all-in” means choosing proven, long-term housing solutions; listening to people with lived experience; and strengthening the partnerships that turn shared values into lasting impact. AHM 2026 is designed to educate, engage, activate, and unite community members around affordable and supportive housing. PROCLAMATION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OFSANTA CLARA DECLARING MAY 2026 AS AFFORDABLE HOUSING MONTH IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY WHEREAS, affordable housing is an essential need for every human being, and yet each year thousands of Silicon Valley families and individuals struggle to find affordable homes in one of the most expensive housing markets in the nation; WHEREAS, on any given night in Santa Clara County, 10,711 individuals are experiencing homelessness, 70% of whom are unsheltered; WHEREAS, those most disproportionately affected are low-income, immigrant, and communities of color in which Hispanic or Latino/e/a and Black, African, or African American make up 50% and 12%, respectively, of the unhoused population throughout Santa Clara County; WHEREAS, the Regional Housing Needs allocation process for the 2023 — 2031 period identified that Santa Clara County needs a total of 129,577 additional housing units, including 50,923 affordable housing units for very-low- and low-income households, in order to meet the existing need; WHEREAS, many organizations throughout Santa Clara County are dedicated to providing safe, stable, permanent, and affordable housing to all...
