Possible action: a. Receive report from the Roads Commission. b. Direct Administration to review the Roads Commission recommendation relating to support for the Connect Bay Area Act and report to the Board as part of the monthly legislative update with options for consideration. COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS The report and recommendation from the Commission were received at the June 25, 2026 Housing, Land Use, Environment, and Transportation Committee (HLUET) regular meeting (Item No. 12), and forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for consideration as part of the Consent Calendar. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS There are no fiscal implications associated with receiving this report. Santa Clara County Roads Commission Report on Why the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors should endorse/support Connect Bay Area Connect Bay Area is a Regional Transportation Ballot Measure that will keep the transit systems in 5 San Francisco Bay Area Counties running as they are now. The 5 counties are Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara. Three transit systems are particularly at risk BART, Muni, Caltrain, AC Transit. All of these would hit a fiscal cliff that would drastically cut service and possibly cause them to cease operations altogether. BART and Caltrain serve Santa Clara County. VTA was not facing a fiscal crisis but it will also benefit from this measure with additional revenue to expand service and improve the roadways that it uses. The Roads Commission voted to request the Santa Clara Board of Supervisors to endorse Connect Bay Area because it has a direct impact on safety, use, and maintenance costs of roadways in Santa Clara County.
