Williams, County Executive SUBJECT: Appropriation Modification Related to Unclassified Position in the Public Defender Office RECOMMENDED ACTION Approve Request for Appropriation Modification No. 13 - $514,180 transferring funds from the Office of the County Executive budget to the Office of the Public Defender budget relating to the addition of an unclassified Attorney position, to support the Immigration Unit. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS Approval of this action will increase salaries and benefits appropriation one-time by $508,893 to fund 1.0 FTE unclassified Attorney III position for 18 months. This action will also provide $5,287 in services and supplies appropriation to support the work of the newly added Attorney position. These costs are offset by a corresponding reduction in contract services within the Office of the County Executive, from the $1,250,000 previously appropriated for emergency response resources for services to vulnerable communities.
