(Probation Department) REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION David Villalon has been an outstanding contributor to the County of Santa Clara Probation Department. Details of his public service are annotated on the attached commendation. STEPS FOLLOWING APPROVAL The Office of Clerk of the Board is requested to contact Nam Pham, Duy Nguyen and Shirley Ragudo from the Probation Department to arrange pick up of one executed copy of the framed commendation. Docusign Envelope ID: 65BB6C1B-1962-8650-81FA-A2E699E4B8FB RETIREE COMMENDATION WHEREAS, David Villalon has devoted 24 years of service to the County of Santa Clara, and during that time, has demonstrated professionalism and dedication through his service to the Probation Department; WHEREAS, David Villalon began his career with the County of Santa Clara Probation Department in February 2002 as a Probation Counselor in the William F. James Ranch Facility. In May 2013, he transitioned to the role of Deputy Probation Officer and dutifully served in the Adult Wellness Unit until his retirement; WHEREAS, David Villalon facilitated the thoughtful rehabilitation of countless juvenile and adult clients who experienced a myriad of challenges. He was among the few Deputy Probation Officers to lead a Probation Men”s Group for 12 consecutive years, all while providing guidance and support to clients with the most acute mental health needs; and WHEREAS, David Villalon’s vast knowledge, calm demeanor, leadership, and willingness to teach and mentor Probation staff served as an inspiration to others.
