(Probation Department) REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION Jay Jennings has been an outstanding contributor to the County of Santa Clara Probation Department. Details of his public service are annotated on the attached commendation. STEPS FOLLOWING APPROVAL The Office of Clerk of the Board is requested to contact Ha Vo, Nam Pham, Duy Nguyen, and Darlene Nguyen from the Probation Department to arrange pick up of one executed copy of the framed commendation. Docusign Envelope ID: 3230B688-FB0E-8FF7-82F3-B53AD65E6B16 RETIREE COMMENDATION WHEREAS, Jay Jennings has devoted 28 years of service to the County of Santa Clara and, during that time, has demonstrated the highest level of integrity, leadership, professionalism, collaboration, and dedication to the Probation Department and the County; WHEREAS, Jay Jennings began his career with the County of Santa Clara Probation Department in Juvenile Hall in November 1995 as an Extra Help Group Counselor and became a full-time Group Counselor in June 1997. In July 2001, he was promoted to Deputy Probation Officer and facilitated the thoughtful rehabilitation of countless juvenile clients while meeting the custodial needs of youth in Juvenile Hall. He served in various units within the Juvenile Services Division, such as the East, North, Aftercare, EDGE/PEAK, Court, and Family Preservation Units; WHEREAS, Jay Jennings was promoted to Supervising Probation Officer in February 2022, a role in which he dutifully served until his retirement.
