April 13, 2026 Via Email Only Re: Public Comment – Complaint- Demand for CPRA Compliance with respect to Public Records responsive to Peter Ortiz and Nicholas Aguilar’s Nomination and Appointment to the Santa Clara County Child Abuse Prevention Council in 2024 and their respective 700 Form disclosures Dear Board of Supervisors, County Counsel, and Child Abuse Prevention Council Members; In 2024, two individuals were appointed to the county's Child Abuse Prevention Council. First, Nicholas Aguilar was appointed to a CAPC subcommittee as chair. His name is listed on the county website in that position. However, multiple requests have been made for the records that would include his nomination, appointment, and Form 700 disclosures. Not only have the requests been repeatedly ignored, but on information and belief, they do not appear to exist. County Counsel has outright ignored lawfully submitted requests for production of records, as well as requests for access to inspect these records.
