FISCAL IMPLICATIONS There are no fiscal implications associated with this action. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION The Defined Contribution Plans Committee (“Committee”) performs the fiduciary duties for the County of Santa Clara Defined Contribution Plans to act in the best interest of the plan members. The Board of Supervisors (“Board”) appoints five Committee members: two union representatives; one County retiree; and two current or former County employees. The Director, Finance Agency and Employee Benefits Director serve in the Committee’s other two seats. On January 10, 2023, the Board approved bylaws for the Committee, establishing staggered four-year terms for the existing Board-appointed Committee members.
