W HEREAS, Reverend Lindi Ramsden served the First Unitarian Church of San Jose with distinction as Senior Minister for WHEREAS, dedicated to serving all residents of Santa Clara County, Reverend Ramsden established a ministry to the Spanish-speaking community through Unitarios Universalistas de Habla Hispana and guided her congregation to declare sanctuary for refugees fleeing wars in Central America while actively supporting their legal rights, housing, and employment needs; WHEREAS, Reverend Ramsden strengthened Santa Clara County communities through civic leadership, organizing C.A.R.E.S to save funding for 14 after-school program sites in the San Jose Unified School District and cofounding the Third Street Community Center, which has served downtown San Jose neighborhoods since 1997; WHEREAS, as a founding member of the Rainbow Network for Communication & Action in support of marriage equality, as the first Executive Director of the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of California, and as Chair of the Interfaith Council on Religion, Race, Economic and Social Justice, Reverend Ramsden championed justice throughout the South Bay; and WHEREAS, on January 4, 2026, the...
