W HEREAS, the Vesak Festival, internationally recognized by the United Nations in 1999, is one of the most significant WHEREAS, this sacred occasion highlights the core Buddhist values of wisdom, compassion, and peace, inspiring individuals and communities to foster understanding, unity, and service in an increasingly interconnected world; WHEREAS, the 2026 Vesak Festival in Northern California will be held April 17-19 at Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose and will feature Most Venerable Thfch Tinh Tu as a special guest; WHEREAS, Venerable Thfch Tinh Tu is widely respected as a meditation master with significant influence among monks, nuns, and Buddhist communities throughout Northern California; and WHEREAS, at the 2026 Vesak Festival in San Jose, Most Venerable Thich Tinh Tu will serve as a Spiritual Witnessing Master of the event.
