WHEREAS, the Vesak Festival, internationally recognized by the United Nations in 1999, is one of the most significant WHEREAS, this sacred occasion highlights the core Buddhist values of wisdom, compassion, and peace, inspiring individuals and communities to foster understanding, unity, and service in an increasingly interconnected world; WHEREAS, the 2026 Vesak Festival in Northern California will be held April 17-19 at Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose, and will feature Most Venerable Thich Minh Dat as a special guest; WHEREAS, Venerable Thich Minh Dat received his monastic education at Hue Nghiem Buddhist Institute and is recognized as one of the preeminent spiritual leaders for monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in Northern California; and WHEREAS, at the 2026 Vesak Festival in San Jose, California, Most Venerable Thlch Minh Dat will serve as a Spiritual Witnessing Master and one of four distinguished Dharma speakers at the event.
