W HEREAS, WHEREAS, Potter the Otter is a beloved children's character and trusted friend to families-brought to life through FIRST 5 Santa Clara County-who helps young children learn healthy habits, such as drinking water, eating nutritious foods, staying active, and caring for their bodies and minds, through engaging stories and activities; WHEREAS, Potter the Otter Day celebrates children's health and community connections with educational, hands-on activities that encourage play, reading, learning, and exploration for families with young children; and WHEREAS, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, local families are invited to gather at the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose to participate in Potter the Otter Day, featuring story time, art projects, family resources, opportunities to connect with community partners, and joyful learning experiences that help children thrive. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara does hereby proclaim April 25, 2026, as Potter the Otter Day in Santa Clara County.
