WHERE AS, the County of Santa Clara recognizes that a thriving planet is directly tied to the well-being of all residents and that the health of our environment shapes our physical health, mental health, economic opportunity, and overall quality oflife; WHEREAS, environmental stewardship is a shared responsibility between the County and its residents, and this partnership is vital to advancing sustainable policies, reducing pollution, and expanding environmental education; WHEREAS, the County is committed to eliminating environmental racism and upholding every community's right to clean air, safe water, and access to nearby natural spaces; and WHEREAS, Earth Month is a time for all residents to come together to celebrate our natural resources and reflect on how we can commit ourselves to sustainable practices that strengthen our shared future. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara does hereby proclaim the month of April 2026, as EARTH MONTH in recognition of our shared responsibility to protect and preserve our planet for current and future generations.
